Complete interiors in leather and Alcantara — seats, door cards, headlining and steering wheel. For the sports car that gets driven, and for the classic that needs to look the way it left the factory.

What we do for cars

01

Complete interiors

Seats, door cards, console, headlining and wheel in a single material and, in leather, from a single batch. It is the only way to avoid two shades inside one cabin.

02

Seats

Taken out, frame and filling checked, then retrimmed. If the foam has gone it is rebuilt: a new cover on tired foam creases within months.

03

Wheel and headlining

The wheel, hand-stitched in leather or Alcantara, is the part you touch most and the first to give away poor work. The headlining is the first thing to sag in coastal heat.

04

Classic restoration

Where originality matters, everything is recorded before it comes apart — stitch pattern, perforation, colour and grain. What can be kept is kept; what is replaced is replaced like for like.

Materials

Leather, Alcantara and the stitching between them

A car shut in the sun in August easily passes sixty degrees inside. Whatever goes into the cabin has to take that every summer without cracking, lifting or changing colour.

Automotive leather
Full-grain hide tanned for automotive use, which copes with heat and wear and ages evenly. Nappa is the softest to the touch; firmer hides suit seats that work hard.
Alcantara
A microfibre that grips and doesn’t scorch in the sun. The natural choice for the wheel, seat centres and headlining of a sports car, and it asks for more care than leather in daily use.
Stitching
Single or twin stitch, diamond, quilted, perforated. The pattern and thread colour are agreed on a sample before the interior is cut.
Adhesive
On headlinings and door cards it is heat that lets go. High-temperature contact adhesives are what stop the headlining dropping again in its second summer.

How long an interior takes

A complete interior is five to eight days on the bench. Add stripping out, waiting for the hide — which sometimes comes from abroad — and the workshop’s diary, as it takes on few cars at a time. The car is off the road no longer than it needs to be, and no shorter either.

Where

The work is done at our workshop in Mijas Costa, half an hour from Marbella. We look after owners and collectors along the Costa del Sol, and classic specialists who need the trim side of a restoration.

Questions we are often asked

Can you match the original leather?

We find the closest colour and grain and show you the sample before anything is decided. If only part of the interior is redone, new hide next to leather that has had years of sun won’t be identical — which is why, in a cabin you see all at once, doing the whole thing usually makes sense.

Leather or Alcantara?

Leather where there is wear and it needs wiping clean; Alcantara where you want grip or where the sun gets hot. In many sports cars the right answer is both — leather bolsters with Alcantara centres, or an Alcantara wheel.

Do you specialise in particular marques?

There is no fixed list. A 911, a nineties Ferrari and an English classic each ask for something different; what matters is whether it is a complete interior or a restoration worth doing properly.

What does it cost to retrim a car?

It depends on the pieces, the material and the condition of what lies underneath, so each car is quoted once we have seen it. We don’t price per seat.
